S4TI still not opening/working

hi, i've attemtped to use this program many times on my mac and come back every few months to see if the updates will allow it to work on my mac, but it still will not open at, even using all the different suggestions in the original forum.

i am using a macbook with sierra 10.12

Yes, the hard part is to make it work on Mac and pass the GateKeeper!

You may not be aware, but you have 1 hour after first download/run to unlock it otherwise you must use the Finder step to unlock it.

 

Requirements

Make sure you have the latest version.

If you have installed the version of Mono pointed in the Guide try the latest official version.

 

Make it work

Open Finder, locate Sims4TrayImporter.app then hold-click (right-click) on it and select Open.

When prompted, allow it to run. This will set a permission in GateKeeper and allow it to run by double-click like normal apps.

 

If it still doesn't run, try to move S4TI to the /Applications folder and redo the step above.

hi, i have tried all the steps you have listed but the prompt that says it cannot run the program still is coming up

I may have forgotten about the Control key thing. (I'm not a Mac user )

 

To override your security settings and open the app anyway:

1. In the Finder, locate the app you want to open.
   Don’t use Launchpad to do this. Launchpad doesn’t allow you to access the shortcut menu.
2. Control-click the app icon, then choose Open from the shortcut menu.
3. Click Open.
   The app is saved as an exception to your security settings, and you can open it in the future by double-clicking it just as you can any registered app.

If it still doesn't work, try this: The application "" can't be opened

1. Open a Terminal
2. Here are the commands:

cd
cd Applications
cd APPLICATION_NAME.app (where APPLICATION_NAME is your app)
cd Contents/MacOS

First Option (if you know which is the executable):

chmod +x FILENAME (where FILENAME is the name of the executable)

Second Option (if you don't know which is the executable):

chmod +x *

If it tells you operation not permitted, then add sudo in front of chmod

The application just won't open. It says "the sims4trayimporter can't be opened" I've tried these instructions. When I try using terminal I just get the message "no such file or directory". It's making me a bit nuts because I have broken CC that I just want to find and delete but this is the only application I'm being recommended to deal with the issue and it just won't run. I'm on a MacBook Air 2018 model with Catalina version 10.15.4

 

Any help would be appreciated
