Sims 4 Tray Importer Config Game won't go away!

I am trying to remove bad cc and I cant get into my tray importer because it says this

I have even gone into the Debug section and this is what it says

Hi @Taylor Morgan, you need fix the path set in InstallDir so that S4TI can find the game.

Just click on the dropdown then select "…" to browse your computer.

How would I find that? I clicked the drop down and went to Electronic Arts then to The Sims and here is where I am at right now

The game should be located in your /Applications folder by default.

 

Else to locate your game:

Open Origin

Click Origin > Application Settings

Select INSTALLS & SAVES

Look for Game library location

From S4TI, open Preferences, click the InstallDir drop down then select "..." and go to the location found in Origin then select The Sims 4.app

oh my goodness thank you so much! This has been bugging more for a long time!

would anyone be able to tell me how to debug the application? my tray importer is doing the exact same thing and won't show any of my content or go past the config window, but I don't know how to debug it in order to find out why it is doing this. thank you!

Hello @kiraxo,

You'll find the debug option on the taskbar, Sims4TrayImporter>Debug.

 

The most commun causes of this problem is that you have not selected the proper App or selected the wrong language.

Both language and path must match else it won't be able to locate the required files and the config box will popup again on next launch.

If you have a Wine version that could be a problem since not all versions are compatible due to different setups.

I knew I was gonna make myself sound reallly stupid and that it was gonna be somewhere really obvious. thank you so much for your help! i've finally figured it out

Hi! im having the same issue of not being able to configure the tray importer. i cant find a debug window, but i tried to go into origin and see if changing the location of my game would help, but everything is grayed out. i installed the mono and the importer file but when i open the tray importer to configure, it keeps telling me it needs to restart and then does the same thing over again. please help! :)

It will keep doing so until you correctly specify the path.

Maybe because they are apps and not folders? ^^

You must navigate to the Sims 4 app then select it. (not the one in Documents)

Use the left pane. But this only works for Origin, S4TI require Apps.
