Question:

I'm trying to clean up my mod folders - and I made a backup incase I accidently delete something.

I use the Settings-> Custom Folders to add the backup and see the missing CC.

Am I able to use External Search? I can't seem to get it to accept there is a Custom Folder also. If I add the custom folder in settings and do the search it finds the item - but I would like to be able to just search??? I tried moving the backup folder into Documents, as well as Saves, but it won't work.

Hello @TheLllama,

If we are speaking about the Find Package in the Tools menu, make sure the More option is checked:

With that checked - it should be able to search the Custom Folder for the CC, right?

For some reason I cannot get it to search the custom folder...

Yep! This option is for custom folders, just don't forget to enable Settings>Custom Folders>Allow custom folders while tracking custom contents.

If this doesn't work, uncheck Game or all but More. For some users, when Game is checked it doesn't work.

When I only have More selected I cannot search. I tried every combo of More/Save, More/Mod, More/Mod/Save, etc and nothing. Even tried Game/Mod, Game, Game/Save, etc.

But the custom folder is working in the actual Importer (attached is a screen shot to show the missing CC is being detected) All of those missing keys are detected just not searchable.

No matter which of the Keys I saved work, no matter the combo.

Stuff from my main folder is searchable though.

Looks like it stopped working. 😳

I just found the feature so I can't say if it worked before or not -

I've been trying to fix my Mod folder for years but every time I clean it out I lose CC and have to use Custom Folders to track it down (but its a pain to wait for the backup folder to load because its SO big) and thought the search function would make things faster.

Thank you for your hard work on the app though - it's amazing and you rock.

Yep! Large folders can take time to load the first time, even more when Windows has not cached them yet,
I have a new revision that is almost ~20x faster and almost not affected by files not being cached by Windows.
Unfortunately, I have to update the whole UI before I can use the new revision. 😣

OH WOW thank you for fixing this!!!

Yeah I have like 300gigs of mods... but I suspect it's more like 150gigs if I could actually properly clean this out! It's not so bad once it's cached.

I really appreciate your help here, i'm going to go test out the new version!
