Can anyone explain what the red lines mean?

I have spent a few days trying to clean up my mod folder and investigate issues with households that refuse to load thumbnails, and cannot be saved back into the gallery once loaded. Can anyone explain what is happening in tray importer when things are red like this? Is there anyway to fix the issue to make the household normal again?

Looks like you have some missing files in your Tray folder. as long they only relate to thumbnails (.sgi, .hhi, .bpi, .rmi) you should be fine, but any missing HOUSEHOLDBINARY, ROOM or BLUEPRINT files might render your game unstable.

 

Since you are in the process of cleaning your save folder look in your recycle bin in case you've accidentally deleted them.

If they are downloads, the author may have forgotten to include them and so requesting an update should be best option here.

 

Does removing/renaming your Mods folder fix the 'cannot generate thumbnails issue'?

Does removing mods (.zip, .ts4script) in your Mods folder fix the 'cannot generate thumbnails issue'?
Make sure all your mods (.zip, .ts4script) are up to date.
Try to repair your game, open EA App, select The Sims 4 and choose the Repair option.

Missing thumbnails can be fixed by simply resaving them (or look in the recycle bin). If not, you may have a broken game or mod that is causing the thumbnails not to be generated.

Missing HOUSEHOLDBINARY, ROOM or BLUEPRINT on the other end can't be fixed as easily, you will have to redownload them or look in the recycle bin in case you accidentally deleted them.
