Question about Replaced CC and dots color code

Hello!

 

I wanted to ask about the meaning of the "Replaced" section on the CC viewer of Tray Importer. I see that the files in that "Replaced CC" section have a yellow dot beside them, which, as per the dot color code at the bottom of the CC viewer, is tagged as "Replaced (Optional)". I have so much CC, and I usually download households created by others, and tweak them to my liking. Do those "replaced"/ yellow dotted files mean that the sims in a specific household previously used those CC files, but they were removed from them or changed to another stuff?

 

I'm trying to make a serious clean-up of my mods folder, keeping only the CC that I really use, but I don't know if for that purpose I should make a copy of the CC files that appear in the "Installed" (blue dot files) or also should copy the "Replaced" (yellow dot) files as well.

Hello @taringaran,

 

The yellow dot means that a content from the game is overridden (replaced).

 

Most of the time it's to enhance the base game content or to fix a glitch in the base game content.

Removing them shouldn't break your game, but you'll loose the higher quality skin tone or eyes for example.

 

So unless you don't like base content replacements, I think you should keep them too.
