I clicked run as administrator and then it asked me if I would allow it to make changes to my laptop, I said yes and the message popped up again. I keep trying it but its the same result

Something is locking the file, the most common causes is your antivirus or you may not have enough right to install an unsigned app.

Try to run the installer as administrator, right-click on the file then chose Run as administrator, you'll then be prompted to enter the administrator credential.

Oh my god its working now that I uninstalled my antivirus. Thanks so much for your help honestly I wouldn't have thought it was because of that, sorry for the inconvenience.

You could just have disabled your antivirus to check if it was the root of the problem, but well it's too late now.
At least Windows come with a decent one, so it's not like you're left with nothing.

Every time I try to install this application, it says "the parameters are incorrect". I use a PC, Windows 10 version. I'm not sure what to do anymore! I've even tried installing the older versions. Someone please tell me what to do. Thanks so much!

Hello I was trying to download S4TI but every time I try my antivirus says it counts ins trojan and/or malware and I’m really scared because this is my new computer and my parents would be really pissed off if I download things with viruses. Could you help me please? Does it really contain viruses or something? Or what should I do to download it without my computer saying it’s virus.

As long you downloaded it from this page , it's safe to download.

 

Sometime antivirus will throw false positives, so there is nothing you can do other than making sure you're downloading from the official source.

You can submit the file to VirusTotal.com to check against most major antivirus and decide if it's safe or not.

There is nothing you can do, your AV is trying to protect your PC.
- But sometimes you can fix the issue by updating your AV and its virus definitions.
- Select the keep/run anyway option (label can be different here), but this option is sometime well hidden to prevent accidental click.

  You won't get rid of the warning but it will allow you to keep/install the file.

- Ask your parents or someone else with more experiences, better to be safe!

hi! sorry about the late reply, i'm not sure how to upload a picture to here, but i'll write exactly what it says: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. " and the icon on the pop up window is a white X inside a red circle.

Hello @samgen,
I think your antivirus is locking the installer preventing Windows from accessing it.
Run a scan on the file prior to launch it, this should help your antivirus to unlock the file.

or
Turn off you antivirus while installing S4TI and don't forget to turn it back on.

hihi! i downloaded this importer because ive had it on a past mac and just got it back since i wanted to get new cc but when i try and look for the broken cc all i see is "searching for cc is not avaliable right now" and "open prefrences" but ive done that and ive deleted the app and reinstalled it so many times. how do i fix this because i need to get rid of this cc? if i cant are there any alternatives?

Hello @nomi,

Make sure S4TI is installed in your Applications folder.

Open taskbar>Sims4TrayImporter>App reports and post the result.

heyo! i checked and it is installed in my applications folder. how ever when i look in my taskbar and when i look in my files i cant see anything about app reports. im on a macbook if that helps? ty!

nevermind i found the reports this is what it said. the last crash report was empty.

Looks like S4TI cannot find the game.

Open Preferences, then change the path to /Applications/The Sims 4.app.
If it doesn't work, locate the game and update the game location in Preferences.
