Chmod trick in terminal not working for Mac

Hello!

I've tried all the steps I could find to get access to Sims 4 Tray Importer on my mac (Big Sur), but it is still not working. When I try the chmod trick, even when dragging the Sims4TrayImporter file straight into the Terminal from the apps package contents, it keeps telling me 'No such file or directory', and the app will still refuse to open.

Here's all the steps I've tried:

  • Sims4TrayImporter.app located in the applications folder
  • Downloaded Mono (visual studio channel)
  • Right clicking and select 'open'
  • Going into my Security & Privacy settings (nothing there)
  • Trying the different iterations of the chmod trick, including dragging Sims4TrayImporter file from the apps package contents (see attached screenshot)

Am I missing anything?

Hello @nikz,
Make sure there is no space between « +x », else « x » will be treated as the path.

Same for the « / », except to separate the command and the path.

In Terminal, type chmod +x <AppPath>

It seems like the problem was that Mono did not install properly the first time, I just re-installed it and now it worked! Thank you 🙂
